Video Can Make An Impact

There is a skill set and a recipe that goes into making a powerful video. I learned the hard way about 10 years ago when I wanted a video for my marketing needs and I interviewed over a dozen video artists and hired two only to find the video they made did NOTHING for me! I went back to my list and hired the one that I thought for sure just wouldn't get what I wanted but he asked me something during the interview that stood out to me as a portrait and commercial photographer that none of the others asked.

Are you ready for what he asked?

The question I was asked was this... what should the video say to the viewer without saying anything at all? We are emotional beings and we buy, share and rebuy based on emotional feeding. Consumers will spend money to solve a problem they didn't know they had. They will buy out of convenience (why Amazon holds 50% of the marketplace). The product or brand makes them laugh, cry, get hungry, or something even deeper feeds into something they want to have, conquer, create or fix!

Now, this comes down to asking the right questions and we ask many to create the right video. They are not painful longer or time-consuming but these questions shape the backbone of what you need your video to do!

Brands and businesses need a video marketing strategy — this idea isn't new. What has changed is how important video has become on every platform and channel. Video is no longer just one piece of your overall marketing plan. It's central to your outreach and campaign efforts … especially your social strategy.

Video has absolutely dominated social. Google searches shows that four of the top six channels on which global consumers watch video are social channels.

Consumers are now watching hours and hours of video on Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook and more. While most businesses now feel confident in creating articles and infographics, it’s fair to say that video marketing is a whole different ball game.

So many companies are now investing in a social video marketing strategy because it works. The right video forces people to stop and take notice. By engaging viewers, videos forge a relationship between brands and customers, and develop both trust and credibility. Videos give consumers a glance into the company, while allowing the business to present itself as a leader within the field.

Why is this important? If you aren't creating video, you're likely falling behind. But don't fret...  we can help you with a free phone call.
